A bit of time has passed since our last newsletter and a lot has happened here at the Thompson Inn!

All Lit Up for an August Wedding

The Thompson Inn All Lit up for an August 6th Wedding

The Thompson Inn hosted a magical summer wedding on August 6th!  Anna and Chris had an intimate ceremony under the canopy of three maples in the late afternoon, serenaded by a very talented pair of ladies, a violinist and cellist.   The aisle was appointed with gorgeous rainbow flower arrangements.  AND the threatening thunderstorm went around us!  Divine intervention!

While the bride and groom went off with the photographer to seek out a few more photo ops on the grounds, their guests strolled over to the Inn’s wraparound veranda, deck and gazebo for cocktails, aps and music.  Anna and Chris soon joined their guests and the real celebration started! Very heart warming to see this wonderful space used and enjoyed just as we envisioned:)
Then onto a sailcloth tent set up on the grounds for the traditional dances…with not so traditional music…loved it!  All in attendance were treated to a delicious New England clambake served by some very lovely ladies.  Dancing and celebrating continued into the evening, with much personal participation by an awesome DJ.  It was truly a pleasure to have them all here!
Special thanks to the vendors that worked together to do such a fabulous job!

Progress on the Cyderhouse

Progress on the Cyderhouse

Things are moving along with the reconstruction of the old cider mill and construction of the timber frame addition!  Our beautiful timber frame will be enclosed over the next few weeks.  All will be complete and operational for next summer!  Our chef, John, will soon be busy setting up his kitchen and is available to assist clients with designing their menus.  When complete, we will offer a 40 x 60 timber framed function room with stone fireplace and overlooking balcony, bridal party changing room, full service bar, and wine cellar with an adjacent rustic dining room for up to about 30 guests. We are very excited to see our vision for this historic cider mill come to life!

Summertime

By the spring of 2018, the Thompson Inn will have ten rooms ready for overnight guests of events.  Breakfast will be served to overnight guests in the inn’s dining room.

Enjoy what is left of the summer and please do not hesitate to get in touch if we can help!

Best to you !
